What are typical juvenile offenses and how are they tried in court? What are the stories behind the crimes? The ZDFtivi format "Young Crime" explores these questions. In episodes of 25 minutes each, a true case is presented. In most cases, a German juvenile court has ruled on the matter. Theft, property damage, assault, coercion, blackmail - "Young Crime" focuses on the crimes that are primarily committed by young people.

The klicksafe lesson on the episode "Cell Phone Terror" deals with the case of a sexualized blackmail of a girl in a public chat by a boy from her school. The students receive background information on the legal situation and evaluate the case using symbol cards. The possible punishment ranges from impunity to an educational measure and a condition to juvenile detention.

At the end, the young people's decisions in the classroom are compared and analyzed with the explanation of the juvenile experts and the juvenile judge in the video. In addition, the students learn about suitable protective measures in the event of digital assaults and violations of personal rights.

The material was developed in cooperation with ZDF. It is suitable for use in grades 7 and up, and takes about 1-2 hours to complete.
