ECSM 2019: BSI calls for participation

Information, awareness and active consumer protection in the field of cyber security: these are the central concerns of the European Cyber Security Month (ECSM), which will take place for the eighth time in October 2019.

The German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) is the national coordinating body for ECSM in Germany and calls on institutions from government, business and society to participate in ECSM with their own activities. In the previous year, around 100 partners with almost 200 activities took part in ECSM throughout Germany.

Authorities, companies and institutions that would like to participate in the ECSM with their own formats to draw attention to the topic of cyber security can register this with the BSI. The activities can be both public and non-public, can be carried out online or on-site, and can be aimed at the general public or a specialist audience. The BSI has summarized more information on participation opportunities and registration in an action guide, which is available on the BSI website.

To kick off the European Action Month, the Alliance for Cyber Security and the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce invite companies and institutions to a Cyber Security Day in Berlin on September 26, 2019. Barcamps and match-making sessions will provide opportunities for exchange and networking as well as inspiration for your own projects. In addition, cyber security initiatives and companies will present their actions planned for ECSM 2019 in an exhibition. BSI is accepting applications for participation in the exhibition until June 30, 2019 at https://www.allianz-fuer-cybersicherheit.de/CfP_ECSM2019.
