JUUUPORT offers weekly live chat consultation

The online counseling platform JUUUPORT.de offers a live chat every Thursday from 18:00 - 20:00.

People seeking advice on a specific topic can call in and put their questions to the young advisors, the JUUUPORT scouts. The live chat complements the existing counseling channel, a low-threshold contact form on the www.JUUUPORT.de website. Inquiries made via the contact form will receive a response within 48 hours at the latest.

The first live chat will deal with the topic of cyberbullying. A large proportion of the inquiries received by JUUUPORT concern this topic. The chat will be supervised and psychologically supported by experienced scouts. "Normally, we can polish our often detailed answers. Now we have to respond right away, answering just as well, of course. I think the advice will resemble a conversation, in which we can clarify open questions directly and avoid misunderstandings even better," says scout Jonas (20).

Theregular live chat is intended to meet the usage habits of young people and reach more people seeking help. They are used to communicating in real time via messengers such as WhatsApp. This way, the target group is reached even better. It also allows people seeking advice to be targeted on specific online topics.

These measures are supported by Techniker Krankenkasse (TK), which has been accompanying and promoting the peer-to-peer project since 2016. Sabine König, from TK's health management department: "With the live chat, the JUUUPORT scouts can now respond even faster to the young people's questions and problems. Especially with online topics such as cyberbullying, quick help is needed. That's why we're very pleased that JUUUPORT is constantly expanding its counseling platform."

JUUUPORT is a counseling platform where young people help each other when they have problems on and with the Internet.
