KABU - Info app by kids for kids

In November 2017, the children's info app KABU was released and is now available free of charge for Android and iOS.

KABU is an app that presents content for children of primary school age in an entertaining and educational way. It is free of charge and free of advertising and was designed by the media education team of the specialized institution "SIN Studio im Netz".

KABU imparts knowledge on the safe use of digital media, provides child-friendly information on exciting topics and offers entertaining puzzle games. The regularly published content is divided into six categories:

  • "Tips and tricks" provides ideas and suggestions, for example for safe media use.
  • "Game and Quiz" contains digital games and analog game ideas.
  • "Join in" encourages children to participate in the form of surveys or votes.
  • "Worth knowing" provides exciting information on interesting topics.
  • "Media tips" presents recommended apps, books, games and websites.
  • "Creative" gives ideas for handicrafts, painting and design.

The app's motto is "by kids for kids," and the articles are created by a children's editorial team under pedagogical guidance. The editorial meetings take place regularly in Munich-Großhadern, interested children are welcome to contact the project .
