Erfurt Netcode e.V. awards five high-quality websites for children

On Tuesday, November 27, 2018, Erfurt-based Netcode e. V. awarded its coveted seal of quality to five high-quality websites for children.

At the Berlin State Representation of the Free State of Thuringia, Kirsten Kramer, Annette Schriefers and Inga Hettstedt presented the popular white kangaroo to:

www.afrika-junior.de: The German- and English-language website offers a multimedia journey of discovery through the countries and history of Africa. In detailed maps, children can learn interesting facts about the African continent, browse through a virtual library, listen to music, watch film clips or solve quiz puzzles.

www.legakids.net: The website offers an extensive collection of games for children with reading and spelling difficulties or arithmetic problems. In the competition against the reading and spelling monster Lurs, the children find fun in playing with letters and numbers. Many tips for children and parents round off the offer.

www.wale.org: This Internet offer inspires children for whales and dolphins and sensitizes them at the same time for the increasing destruction of our environment and its inhabitants. The child-fairly arranged and very well structured side offers apart from exciting information possibilities of becoming active in animal protection.

www.wildtierfreund.de: The wonderfully illustrated and very informative child side creates with children an consciousness for environmental and particularly wild animal protection and gives them many action suggestions, which lead them into nature. The contents are conveyed interactively and in a way that is easy to understand via texts, pictures, films and a game.

https://kniffelix.rz.tu-harburg.de: Kniffelix is a clear and child-friendly Internet site that aims to get young people interested in the natural sciences. In the Kniffelix offering, children are encouraged to question everyday phenomena, create and solve puzzles, and conduct their own experiments.

The seal confirms to the providers the high quality of their website, offers parents and educators a good orientation and opens up a world of interesting and safe sites for children. Every year, a committee of children's media experts reviews the incoming applications and decides which of the sites meet the strict quality criteria.

This year, the award ceremony took place as part of the specialist day "Digital education offensive - with quality websites for children", which was organized by Seitenstark e. V. in cooperation with the Thuringian State Media Authority and Erfurt Netcode e. V..

Applications for the "Erfurt Netcode" quality seal can be submitted until June 15, 2019 at www.erfurter-netcode.de.
