Go-ahead for Media Literacy Week 2021

From July 5 to 11, 2021, the "Media Literacy Week" will take place throughout Rhineland-Palatinate for the second time.

Education Minister Dr. Stefanie Hubig, Dr. Birgit Pikowsky, Director of the State Pedagogical Institute, and Dr. Marc Jan Eumann, Director of the Media Authority Rhineland-Palatinate, launched the #wmkrlp21 website in Mainz on March 11 and called for many exciting offers to be entered on the action map over the next four months. Six newly added partners strengthen the field of now 18 mostly statewide organizations that support the Week of Media Literacy.

Dr. Marc Jan Eumann, Director of Medienanstalt RLP, emphasized the commitment of the many partners: "The Media Literacy Week addresses one of the major issues of the future. In the age of digitalization, self-determined participation in the media is an important prerequisite for shaping people's lives well, but also for the success of democracy. The Media Literacy Week spans all generations and is present throughout Rhineland-Palatinate with many small campaigns. We are pleased to have gained further strong partners for the Media Literacy Week in the form of the Rhineland-Palatinate Youth Press, the Rhineland-Palatinate Criminal Police Office, the Reading Foundation, the Landessportbund Education Center, RPR1 and the Landesbibliothekszentrum."

The Rhineland-Palatinate Media Literacy Week is a great participatory project - the initiators are calling on people to fill the action map on the project website with lots of event flags. Education Minister Dr. Stefanie Hubig: "There are a large number of organizations and initiatives in Rhineland-Palatinate, some of which have been involved in media education for many years. With the Week of Media Literacy, we want to make this multitude and diversity of offerings visible and invite you to become a part of it."

Own contributions to the program of the week of the medium authority can be announced directly on the Website. For joint public relations work, materials are available on the website under the sign of the orange dot.
