On #NoHateSpeech Day: Together against hate on the web
At some point, everyone probably encounters it on the net: Hate, incitement and insults. According to the latest survey by the Media Authority of North Rhine-Westphalia (LfM), the frequency of perception of hate speech and hate comments on the Internet is very pronounced. Currently, two-thirds of respondents (67% compared to 65% in 2016) say they have already seen hate speech or hate comments on the Internet, e.g. on websites, blogs, social networks or Internet forums.
International day of action against hate speech and hate crime
To set an example in this regard, the No Hate Speech Movement is again calling for actions against hate on the net this year. In addition to organizing a flash mob, the guide gives ideas for other public actions to get involved. Pictures of the actions can be shared under the hashtag #nohatespeech or #22reasonswhy .
The No Hate Speech Movement Germany is calling for numerous social media actions, offering for example a temporary Facebook profile picture frame as a sign of solidarity against hate on the net and presenting a new video series with well-known activists against hate speech on the net.
