Youth Media Protection Index 2022 - From Study to Practice: Scientific Impulses for Contemporary Youth Media Protection

How can the protection of minors from harmful media in practice better meet the needs of children, young people and their parents?

What is the relationship between measures and offerings for the protection of children and young people from negative online experiences and the concerns, attitudes, abilities and actions of parents as well as children and young people themselves?

With the Youth Media Protection Index 2022, the Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle Multimedia-Diensteanbieter e.V. (FSM - Voluntary Self-Regulation of Multimedia Service Providers) is publishing a comprehensive study for the second time that deals precisely with this complex of topics.

The empirical findings of the study illustrate the strengths and weaknesses of the current media policy regulations for the protection of minors from harmful media as well as the available media education support services.

The FSM will discuss the need for action resulting from the findings of the Youth Media Protection Index 2022 with experts from science, regulation, business and educational practice.

The event will take place on site in Berlin and will also be livestreamed.
