The annual Safer Internet Day 2023 will take place on February 07. On this day, the European Commission's initiative once again calls for events and actions worldwide on the topic of Internet safety.
Our Safer Internet Day event this year is themed Artificial Intelligence in Everyday Life - Facilitation or Risk?

Shortly before the annual Valentine's Day, the Saarland Consumer Center will give an overview of digital partner exchanges with an impulse on the topic of flirting in the online world - pleasure or frustration for consumers. When algorithms fail as matchmakers, providers don't care about data protection, fake profiles deceive consumers and cost traps lurk, flirting in the online world often leads to a rude awakening in real life.

Dr. Kinga Schumacher from the DFKI will then give an insight into the current state of artificial intelligence (AI) in everyday life. Where is AI already in? What impact do AI-based solutions and assistance systems have on us personally, on our society today and for future generations? What should consumers:inside know and how can they be protected? What connects the online learning platform KI-Campus and the concept of the laundry list?

Impulse: Yvonne Schmieder, lawyer at the Verbraucherzentrale Saarland
Keynote: Dr. Kinga Schumacher, project manager and AI expert at the German Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI)

Following the event, we recommend a visit to our Action Days Internet: With Security, which take place throughout the year in the districts of Saarland. The first Action Day 2023 will take place on 07 March 2023 from 9 am to 4:30 pm at the Saarland State Media Authority in Saarbrücken. Click here to register.
