Researching for homework, relaxing with streaming or gaming and keeping in touch via social media at the same time: The internet is a natural companion in the everyday lives of children and young people. It enriches and facilitates many things. At the same time, the high level of media consumption increases the risk of age-inappropriate or harmful content, and children and young people are exposed to particular dangers online, especially in the area of sexualized violence. Phenomena such as cybergrooming, sexting or the distribution and possession of child pornography pose new challenges for prevention.

The Rhineland-Palatinate Police University informs teachers and parents about current developments in the area of sexualized violence in the digital space. In addition to an overview of relevant phenomena and a look at crime statistics, information on the criminal liability of certain phenomena and options for action in dealing with prohibited files will be presented.

There are two time blocks to choose from when registering: 10:00-12:00 and 15:30-17:30.
