Pope Francis in a stylish down jacket? Obama and Merkel enjoying an ice cream together on the beach? Donald Trump is violently taken away by police officers? Putin kneels before the Chinese dictator Xi? Artificial intelligence plays a central role in today's digital world. They are not always only used for entertainment purposes. Some also use AIs and deepfakes to harm certain people or groups of people and also to spread hate on the internet or disinformation.
Images are also an important part of our private communication: the picture in the status, the story on Instagram or simply the nice souvenir photo via Messenger. With AI, I can not only quickly spruce up my picture, add fun filters or change backgrounds. With the help of AI, my likeness can also be unintentionally placed in a completely different, incorrect and perhaps even punishable context. This is where the threshold to image-based digital violence is crossed. This affects women more frequently and also in a defamatory, sexualized way. Digital literacy is becoming an increasingly important factor in protecting against abuse.
In our lecture in cooperation between Fairsprechen and the State Women's Council of Saxony-Anhalt, you will learn about the basics of artificial intelligence, deepfakes and the opportunities and risks associated with these useful and dangerous tools.
The event will take place online.
The State Women's Council is institutionally supported by the state of Saxony-Anhalt.
Fairsprechen is funded by the State Program for Democracy, Diversity and Open-mindedness of Saxony-Anhalt.
