When well-known social media services block actors of extremist scenes, they look for alternative platforms. As part of a larger research project, jugendschutz.net examined BitChute as a video portal and presents its findings in this Insights session. Which actors act with which kind of content on the platform? How compliant is this content with the platform's own guidelines? How does BitChute react to violations - both proactively and in response to user reports?

About the Insights event series

With Insights, jugendschutz.net provides insights into current trends, developments and findings around hate, incitement and extremist propaganda on the Internet. This is especially true for threats to children and young people growing up well in the online world.

The individual dates are online video events and consist of 20- to 30-minute presentations followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion.

Insights is aimed at professionals involved in preventing extremism and working against hate online, in education and youth work, and in youth media protection. However, other interested parties such as educators are also cordially invited.
