Snapshots and videos of children are often uploaded and shared on social media or in messengers. However, caution is advised here. Children have the right to their own image and privacy. In addition, supposedly harmless images of children can be misused for sexual purposes.

The online seminar deals with the questions
"What actually belongs in the public domain?",
"Where are the limits reached?" and
"What data is stored where and may be used further?"

The invited experts are Sophie Pohle (Consultant at the Children's Rights Coordination Office of the German Children's Fund), Sara Flieder (children's rights activist and social media expert) and Wiro Nestler (legal scholar and criminologist). The discussion will be moderated by Nicole Ahles, freelance author at Norddeutscher Rundfunk and trainer.
