Safer Internet Day (SID) 2023 was celebrated worldwide on February 7. In Germany, the day was held under the motto #OnlineAmLimit. As the coordinator of the international day of action in Germany, klicksafe thus focused on digital balance and digital well-being. Here you can find out which diverse events and offers there were for SID 2023 throughout Germany.

In cooperation with the Media Authority Rhineland-Palatinate, klicksafe organized a Safer Internet Day event at ZDF in Mainz on February 7. The title was "Are we #OnlineAmLimit? - How we can recognize addictions and strengthen digital well-being." Around 60 students* from three schools in Mainz first took part in a digital detox workshop. The subsequent panel discussion addressed the question of whether we are #OnlineAmLimit. The young people participated by taking part in interactive surveys via smartphone, asking fascinating questions and making lively contributions to the discussion.

Institutions, associations and private individuals also supported Safer Internet Day 2023 online. There was a lot to discover, from pictures of individual events to tips on media use to contributions to our social media participation campaign. Hundreds of events throughout Germany

315 events and actions throughout Germany were registered for Safer Internet Day. Most of them took place on February 7. These included such diverse offerings as online events, workshops at schools and short film events. We would like to thank everyone who took part in Safer Internet Day to promote a better Internet!
