Today is the day of children's pages

Under the motto "Me and the Internet - Children's view of the online world", the Seitenstark association invites all children to talk about their experiences with the Internet and to exchange ideas with each other. Since 2015, Children's Sites Day has been celebrated every year on October 21 to draw the attention of children, educators, and teachers to the great variety of child-friendly Internet offerings.

In times of Corona, the Internet is also becoming more important for children. With the motto "Me and the Internet" for the Day of Children's Pages, Seitenstark focuses on children's view of the Internet. What is important to them and what do they experience there? Children can enter their answers to these questions in an Internet album. They can paint, draw or write. Children can also find space for their thoughts and ideas in the moderated Seitenstark children' s forum. Ten impulse questions give the boys and girls ideas about their Internet experiences in a protected online environment.

On many children's sites from the Seitenstark network, other activities are launched in parallel, e.g. surveys, raffle and photo campaigns. Adults are invited to browse through the contributions sent in by the children. Teachers and parents will learn first-hand about the role of the Internet for children and where they can start to guide children online and provide security. All activities and information can be accessed via the website Tag-der-Kinderseiten.de.

Seitenstark e.V. is an actor in the initiative "Growing up well with media" and is funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ).
