app-geprüft.net evaluates apps with regard to risks for children

The new online service app-geprüft.net provides important information at a glance about risks in game apps popular with children. This makes it possible to identify sources of danger in individual games and distinguish good apps from bad ones.

Increasingly, children are using tablets or smartphones for game apps. But Candy Crush, Subway Surfers and Clash of Clans are not necessarily always fun, but also harbor risks, especially for younger users. app-geprüft.net helps parents and educational professionals to recognize and assess these risks in their children's favorite apps. A traffic light system shows how the game app scored in the individual risk areas of child protection, advertising, in-app purchases, data protection and consumer information. On the details page, short texts and images complete the ratings and thus provide additional information to make it easier for parents and pedagogical staff to get an overview of the "app jungle". All information is continuously updated and reviewed.

app-geprüft.net is a service of jugendschutz.net, sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs and the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection.

From now on, the information service app-geprüft by jugendschutz.net can also be found in the topic area "Apps" at klicksafe.de.
