Computer games in the family - tips for parents

AJS NRW and Spieleratgeber NRW have jointly produced a brochure in easy-to-read language. It contains easy-to-understand information and tips on dealing with games in the family that are suitable for everyday use.

Almost all families would like help with media education. Digital games in particular, with their long playing times, are often a source of conflict. It is therefore very helpful for parents to get information about computer games in the family. They need easy-to-understand information and tips on dealing with games that are suitable for everyday use.

The brochure "Computer Games in the Family - Tips for Parents" is the first media education guide on the subject to be written in so-called easy language. Easy language is intended to make it easier for people who, for various reasons, have a low level of competence in the German language to understand texts. Easy language follows a clear set of rules published by the Leichte Sprache network, which has been in existence since 2006.

The brochure, which is sponsored by the Ministry for Family, Children, Youth, Culture and Sports of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, is published jointly by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Kinder- und Jugendschutz NRW (AJS) and the Spieleratgeber NRW of the Fachstelle für Jugendmedienkultur NRW.
