jugendschutz.net report: Games apps risky for children

Together with Stiftung Warentest, jugendschutz.net tested 14 child-friendly game apps. The detailed results and risk descriptions are now available in the form of a report.

In cooperation with Stiftung Warentest, jugendschutz.net reviewed 14 different game apps with an affinity for children and evaluated them in terms of (game) content, handling of in-app purchases and advertising, provider precautions to protect young users, as well as reporting options and support. The research results show that hardly any provider implements an age-differentiated protection concept to protect children from risks. In addition, two-thirds of the apps in the stores contain an age rating that is too low.
